Raleigh house fire affects Wade Avenue traffic

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A home near the intersection of Brooks and Wade avenues in Raleigh caught fire Tuesday afternoon, causing traffic issues ahead of the evening commute.

Raleigh fire officials said the fire started at the house, located at 1105 Brooks Ave., around 3:20 p.m.

No one was at home at the time of the fire.

The structure is divided into two units with the left unit sustaining fire and smoke damage.

The unit on the right suffered smoke damage.

Traffic was brought to a crawl in both directions near the intersection.

Raleigh Fire officials said the cause of the fire is not known at this time.
