RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Amazon began offering its Prime Now one-hour delivery service in Raleigh – and the company said business was brisk on Thursday.
The service is being offered exclusively as a benefit to Prime members. Amazon will provide the delivery service on thousands of daily essentials through a mobile app.
To use Prime Now, Amazon Prime members can download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices.
Prime Now will be available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week in Raleigh.
Two-hour delivery is free and one-hour delivery is available for $7.99.
Amazon said it is using cars, bikes and public transportation to fill orders and meet demand. Amazon said its warehouse is at 3200 Bush Street in Raleigh and the services are available across the Triangle.
Amazon decided to come to the area because of the number of Amazon Prime members here.
