Benson Police seek cigarette thief

BENSON, N.C. (WNCN) – During the early morning hours Thursday, Benson Police officers responded to an Alarm Activation at the Tobacco Warehouse, located at 105 West Parrish Drive in Benson.

Upon their arrival, they located a broken window, and after searching the business, and reviewing the surveillance footage, it was determined that a larceny had occurred.

The footage indicated that the suspect gained entry to the business by breaking a window, and after rummaging through various merchandise, he left with numerous cartons of Newport brand cigarettes, as well as other smoking accessories.   The suspect is 25 to 30 years old, above average height but with a thinner build, with a close-trimmed beard and a fuller goatee, and wearing dark-framed glasses.
