RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The excitement is building … the Carolina Panthers will take on the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday night.
And for many folks, that means deciding what they’ll be eating or where they want to watch the big game.
On the night before the big event … it’s all about preparing.
Treats are always a big hit and so Edible Art was busier than usual.
There’s a lot of work that goes into making those cakes — from the icing to smoothing out any rough edges.
“Lots of requests for cookies and cakes for football parties. It’s easier to have someone else do it and come in and pick it up,” said Tarsha Marshall, Edible Arts manager.
And there’s a skill set required to make a Panthers cake.
From something to eat … to something to wear, fans are also preparing.
“It’s been crazy, phone calls, people coming in. We’ve sold out everything. We got a ton of stuff right after the championship game and it’s all gone,” Said Morgan Umstead, Omega Sports Shift Supervisor.
Omega Sports in North Hills is having trouble keeping up. They’ve only got a couple of t-shirts left.
“We’ve never had to carry a lot of NFL stuff because we don’t get a whole lot of demand for it,” Umstead said.
Then there’s where to watch the game. The Fox and Hound is popular.
“We have five VIP tables that cost a little bit of money and they’re completely booked and ready to go,” said Courtney Linhares, Events Planner at Fox and Hound
They’re also offering some deals for those looking to save a little bit of money.
The Fox and Hound is expecting people to arrive about three hours before the game just to make sure they get a good seat.
“We’re looking forward to it. It’s going to be a little hectic but we’re excited,” Linhares said.
