BOONE, N.C. (WBTV) – Police in Boone have added additional charges against a Tennessee man arrested in December for allegedly attempting to meet an underage girl for sexual purposes.
Terry Lynn Campbell II, 34, was arrested on Dec. 27, 2015 during an investigation into suspected online predators. Police said an ad was posted on a popular website stating that a man was looking for a “young and inexperienced” girl.
A Boone detective, posing as a 14-year-old girl, responded to the ad and arranged a meeting in Boone with the poster. When Campbell arrived at the meeting place, he was interviewed and subsequently arrested.
After his arrest, officers then began investigating his other online activity. That investigation led to Campbell being charged with additional felony violations.
Campbell is now charged with ten counts each of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
He is being held on a $75,000 bond and is due in court on March 3.
