NEW YORK (WNCN) – CBS is making a big move in North Carolina, and WNCN is thrilled about the change.
WNCN becomes a CBS affiliate in three weeks on Monday, Feb. 29. Some key WNCN personalities like anchors Sean Maroney, Sharon Tazwell and Stefan Chase and meteorologist Alyssa Corfont visited the CBS studios in New York on Monday as part of the change.
The switch is a big one for Raleigh-based WNCN. Across the Southeast, CBS programming tends to be dominant, with programming that is highly popular across all day parts. WNCN will air the blockbuster CBS primetime programming as well as major sporting events like the NCAA Tournament and the Masters.
“CBS This Morning,” featuring North Carolina product Charlie Rose, and “The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley” also move to WNCN starting Feb. 29.
WNCN will add more local news with the switch, with WNCN airing local news during the week beginning at 5 p.m.
WNCN welcomes viewer questions about the change. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
