RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The Hillary Clinton campaign is opening its office in Raleigh Thursday, with an opening event from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The campaign headquarters will be at the Capital Club Building at 16 West Martin Street in downtown Raleigh, in suite 707.
The Clinton campaign is gearing up for the March 15 North Carolina primary.
Clinton, the former first lady, Senator from New York and Secretary of State, has been the prohibitive favorite in the Democratic race but just suffered a whopping loss to Sen. Bernie Sanders in the New Hampshire primary.
“North Carolina Democrats are excited to mobilize behind Hillary’s historic run for President,” said N.C. House Democratic Leader Hall. “From protecting access to the ballot box to standing up against Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, Hillary is the only candidate who has what it takes to deliver real results for our community. We’re looking forward to talking with our friends and neighbors about Hillary’s commitment to continue fighting for working and middle class North Carolina families.”
The GOP also plans to have a presence outside the Clinton headquarters. The GOP accused Clinton of “reckless conduct” as secretary of state.
“North Carolinians have made it clear Hillary Clinton and her disastrous policies are not welcome in the state,” the Republican Party said in a news release.
