GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) – A man who was driving a minivan hit and killed a 22-year-old woman Sunday has come forward, the Garner Police said Thursday.
Kayla Dion Higgins, 22, was hit and killed Sunday around 3:30 a.m. on Highway 70.
Capt. Joe Binns said the man contacted them that he had been the one who hit Higgins. He was driving a Dodge minivan.
“The person saw the news and saw where somebody had struck someone,” Binns said.
Binns said he couldn’t give more details about the case at this point, such as whether the driver was clear he hit a person.
Binns said police have not decided if charges will filed. The name of the suspect has not been released.
Higgins was found by a motorist Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
