DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – The Durham Chamber of Commerce had a special guest at its annual meeting Thursday. Duke Professor and Nobel Prize winner, Paul Modrich, was honored with the Bull City Hall of Fame award.
Leaders of the Chamber thanked Modrich for helping the Research Triangle live up to its name. Modrich, along with UNC Professor Dr. Aziz Sancar, won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their research on DNA repair.
The Chamber also honored Duke Health Executive MaryAnn Black with the Civic Honor award.
