COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — There is more information on the arrest of a Colorado Springs high school security guard taken in for what police say was a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
The girl’s mother is who tipped off police to the relationship her daughter had with Tyler Hamilton, 28.
The two met through a social media app called Whisper, which is known to be used for anonymous confessions.
In court documents, Hamilton tells police he had no idea she was 16, but he does confess to having sex with her. As of late, Hamilton was working as a security guard at Coronado High School. There seemed to be conflicting stories between the 16-year-old girl, who told police she told Hamilton she was 16, and Hamilton, who said she told him she was 19. Both admit to the girl living with Hamilton at the Greentree Village Apartments in Colorado Springs.
The girl told police Hamilton took her back home to get more of her belongings when no one was home.
She soon became pregnant. The teen wanted to abort the baby, and told police that Hamilton supported it. He admitted to buying her over-the-counter medication and other items to try for a natural abortion.
Meanwhile, the girl tells police she drank to induce the abortion. Hamilton provided the alcohol and wanted to financially help with an abortion at Planned Parenthood, but they didn’t have the money.
FOX21 News is still trying to confirm if Hamilton is still listed as an employee at Coronado High School. Some parents the TV station spoke to off-camera said they are now concerned Hamilton was around their kids.
