RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Many celebrate Valentine’s Day with jewelry, chocolates, and of course, flowers.
“Valentine’s Day is a big one,” said Sallie Taggart, co-owner of Watkins Flowers Distinction. “Everyone loves to get them.”
Valentine’s Day is the second busiest holiday, just short of Christmas, at Watkins Flowers of Distinction in Raleigh.
“Preparing for Valentine’s Day starts about two months out,” she said.
The rose continues to be the most popular flower on Valentine’s Day. Taggart said they purchased 3,000 of them for the holiday.
She said, “it is an affordable, luxury item that says/ communicates love. They are beautiful, they’re natural.”
To keep the flower looking its best, for the longest, change the water and cut the stems daily.
