Suspect walks away with no money after 2 robbery attempts in NC

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Fayetteville police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they said attempted to rob two businesses late Tuesday.

Just after 10 p.m., a male suspect entered the Day and Nite Tobacco Mart on Murchison Road and brandished a handgun, police said.

The store employee was able to duck behind a counter.

The suspect left the store without any money and was seen heading towards Blue Street on foot.

At around 10:50 p.m., police believe the same suspect attempted to rob the Speedway Gas Station, located at 5030 Yadkin Rd.

The suspect pointed a handgun at a store employee and demanded money.

Again, the suspect left the business without any money.

Police described the suspect as standing between 5 feet 6 and 10 inches and weighing around 135 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie cinched tight around his face, black jeans, black and red tennis shoes, and carrying a silver revolver.
