Pedestrian hit in Wake County crash

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities are investigating a crash that involves a pedestrian in Wake County near Wake Forest, according to officials.

The incident happened at 10 p.m. on U.S. 401 (Louisburg Road) at Forestville Road, officials say.

The woman who was hit was not hurt, but was taken to a nearby hospital for observation, officials said.

Officials say they are investigating if the pedestrian was jaywalking and that no charges are expected in the incident.

One northbound lane of U.S. 401 was closed for about 45 minutes, but has since reopened.
