Police are still trying to figure out who killed a mother and her 2-year-old son who were found dead a year ago in a burned out car in Greensboro.
Lead detective Mike Matthews told the News & Record of Greensboro that this case was especially tough because advanced DNA was needed, causing it to take more time to figure out who was killed.
Matthews said it took investigators more than a week to gather all their evidence from the car because it had snowed.
Authorities said 22-year-old Asia Brown and her son, Ashton, were found dead on Feb. 23, 2015, in a car she bought three days earlier. Detectives think that was the last day she was alive.
