SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) – A Burger King in Salisbury caught fire early Monday morning.
The fire broke out at the fast food restaurant on Jake Alexander Boulevard, shutting the road down between Highway 150 and Brenner Avenue for a time.
The westbound lanes of Jake Alexander Boulevard are scheduled to reopen by 9 a.m. or later, and the eastbound lanes will reopen sooner, the Salisbury Fire Department says.
The fire department says the fully-involved fire activated a fire alarm at a nearby YMCA. The YMCA was cleared a short time later.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 6:30 a.m.
The Salisbury Fire Department is working to determine what started the fire.
