GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A man reported missing about a month before being found dead last year had more than two dozen stab wounds, Guilford County deputies said Monday.
Brian Kelly Clontz of Julian was found dead March 15, 2015, near the wood line of a field along Highway 62 east near Phillippi Road north of Liberty.
The autopsy report concluded Clontz had 26 stab wounds to the chest and upper left arm, deputies said. The autopsy also concluded Clontz’s death was a homicide.
Clontz was reported missing by family members on Feb. 19, and he was last seen at his home Feb. 9. He lived on Phillippi Road less than a mile from where he was found dead.
Numerous interviews have been conducted, and forensic testing also is under way, deputies said Monday.
No arrests have been made in the case.
