Fayetteville man shot in head while driving, survives

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A Fayetteville man sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the back of his head and a graze wound to his shoulder Tuesday.

Eric Deshawn Davis, 25, said he was traveling on Shaw Road from Murchison Road toward Bragg Blvd. around 5:15 p.m. when he heard several shots fired behind him. He told Fayetteville police, who spoke with him at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, that he felt something strike his head and he drove himself to the security gate at Bragg Blvd. and Knox Street to seek help.

Davis said he could not provide any further information about the incident. Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit are actively investigating this shooting and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
