3 NC men behind bars after police seize more than a kilo of heroin

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Three Craven County men are behind bars after a drug bust Friday night.

New Bern Police responded to a shots fired call at 109 Daughety Court off of Old Airport Road around 10:15 p.m.

Police say the address is known for previous investigations. When they arrived on the scene, police found three men leaving the residence with a strong smell of marijuana.

Once inside the residence, officers seized more than a kilo of heroin, marijuana, scales, and three handguns.

The suspects were identified as 65-year-old Thomas Lee Cox, 32-year-old Derrick Lamont Davis, and 35-year-old Rahim Malike Brown.

They face multiple charges including trafficking heroin.

The suspects are at the Craven County Detention Center under a $6 million bond each.

Their first court appearances are set for March 7.
