50+ shots fired as rapper ‘Bankroll Fresh’ killed in Atlanta

ATLANTA (CNN) — Atlanta police are investigating what led to a deadly shooting overnight at a recording studio in Northwest Atlanta.

The shooting happened a little after 11 p.m. Friday at the Street Execs Studios on Defoor Place.

The Fulton County medical examiner confirmed 28-year-old Trentavious White, known as the rapper “Bankroll Fresh,” was shot while inside the studio.

White was then transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Police say they collected more than 50 shell casings inside and outside the recording studio.

Street Execs is home to performing artists such as 2Chainz, Travis Porter, Yung Dolph, CAP 1 and DJ E Studd.

Neighbors told WSB-TV that it’s not that unusual in the last couple years to hear shots, most recently a few months ago.

One neighbor heard multiple shots from different guns, at least one an automatic.

“I mean it was a lot. Sounded like fireworks going off — ‘rattatttt’ like that, continuous,” neighbor Paul Springer said.

Another neighbor said their association met with owners of the studio recently and complained about shootings there in the past.

“Just dozens and dozens by people in the neighborhood,” Grayson Daughters, with the neighborhood association, said. “And I don’t think anyone was the least bit surprised it ended like this, and I’m so sorry someone had to die there.”

Bankroll Fresh, who came up as”Young Fresh,” worked under Atlanta rapper 2Chainz, who owns part of the studio and the record label.

“He was a much loved, apparently (a) very talented artist and just really sad it came to that,” Daughters said.

Atlanta police said they are looking at video from security cameras both inside and outside the studio.
