NC neighborhood crime watch leader hit with drug charges, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities in Fayetteville say the head of a neighborhood crime watch had three pounds of marijuana and was maintaining a dwelling for keeping and selling drugs.

On Thursday,  Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department Narcotics Unit arrested Gloria Wilkinson Gutierrez, age 63, of the 1100 block of Brenda Drive.

Gutierrez was the Community Watch Leader for the Westarea Heights Community, police said.

“The investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of over 3 pounds (of) Marijuana and drug paraphernalia,” police said in a press release.

Gutierrez was charged with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Manufacturing Marijuana, and Maintaining a Dwelling for the Keeping and Selling of a Controlled Substance.

Gloria Wilkinson Gutierrez was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center where she received a $15,000 unsecured bond.
