HIGH POINT, N.C. — A man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting two people in High Point over the weekend. A family member of the suspect was later shot in apparent retaliation, police said.
Carl Roye, 25, was arrested following an incident reported around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Williams Avenue near Montlieu Avenue. He was held under a $3 million bond in the Guilford County Jail.
Orion Sanzeni, and Nigel Pegues, 22, were shot multiple times and treated for serious injuries at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, High Point police said.
Police allege Roye shot both men during an argument. All three people involved in the incident knew each other, police said.
Then around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, a female family member of Roye’s was found shot at his home on East Lexington Avenue, police said. The victim had non life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made in the second shooting, though police believe it was in retaliation for the Saturday night incident. Neither of the shootings was random, police said.
Roye approached officers at the scene of the second shooting and was taken into custody without any problems, police said. His charges include attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
