Police were called to the 1400 block of Maplewood Drive just after 10:30 p.m. Two male victims with gunshot wounds were rushed to the hospital. One victim died at the hospital.

Police identified the deceased victim as 15-year-old David Pounds, of Durham.

“It’s not fair to my mom, it’s not fair to my momma,” cried Keshon Blue, Pounds’ brother. “Fifteen, 15. He didn’t even have a chance to do anything. He didn’t have a chance to defend himself. I just pray to God he made peace with God so that I can see him again.”

Police said the victims were standing in the street when a vehicle drove by them and shots were fired. Family members said four people were home at the time of the shooting and several bullets went into the home.
