HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Two arrests have been made in the murder of a Durham man found shot to death near an elementary school in Efland on Jan. 18, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Jermauciyae Abram and Savian Jacob Turrentine have been arrested in connection with the murder of Tevin Deshawn Kendrick, 22. Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Durham Police Department worked in conjunction to make the arrests.
Abram is charged with murder and Turrentine is charged with accessory after the fact to a felony.
Kendrick was found in the area beside Efland Cheeks Elementary School on the ground near the rear of a white car, which had an open trunk, Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood said.
Kendrick had been shot multiple times.
Abram and Turrentine are currently being held in the Orange County Detention Center. Investigators do not believe the murder was random.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said they anticipate charging additional suspects as the case progresses.
