GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCN) – Three teens have been charged in connection with a church break-in in Goldsboro early Sunday morning.
Wayne County authorities received a call shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday from a concerned citizen who said they heard glass breaking and saw three males enter the Greenleaf Christian Church at 2110 N. Williams St.
Goldsboro police officers responded to the incident and located 16-year-old Kysheem Langston exiting the church from a side door. Police also found two 14-year-old males in the church.
All three teens were taken into custody.
Police said the teens broke out an east side window with a brick and forced open an east side door to gain entry. Nothing was taken from the church.
Langston was charged with felony breaking and entering a place of worship, misdemeanor simple possession of marijuana.
Both 14-year-olds will be charged with juvenile petitions for felony breaking and entering a place of worship. One of the juveniles will also be charged with simple possession of marijuana.
Langston was given a $5,000 secure bond and both 14 year olds were released to their guardians.
