FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A suspect is being held by police after a shooting that killed one person and hurt the relative of that victim in Fayetteville on Monday evening.
At about 6:20 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to 1000 block of Cedar Creek Road about a reported a shooting.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two male victims were shot during an argument “with a third party acquaintance,” police said.
The two shooting victims were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in serious condition, according to Fayetteville Police. Around 8:20 p.m., police said that one of the two male victims — who were related — died.
The third party involved in the shooting is in custody with the Fayetteville Police Department as the investigation continues, police said.
