DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Three people were hurt in a serious two-vehicle crash in Durham on Wednesday night.

The wreck was reported just after 7:35 p.m. at Angier and Guthrie avenues.

Police say a Jeep went through a stop sign and hit a pole. The force of the collision with the telephone pole pushed the Jeep back and caused it to crash with a Lexus.

Initial reports said that two victims were trapped in a vehicle.

Three people were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.  Officials say that the injuries were not life threatening.

The road in the area was still closed as of 9 p.m.
