FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) — Extra officers will be at a Wake County high school on Thursday after a verbal threat was made on Wednesday afternoon, officials say
Police officials said the incident happened at Fuquay-Varina High School around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
After an investigation, officials determined that there was “no actual danger” and that no weapon was involved, according to a statement from Fuquay-Varina Police.
“We will have additional police presence at the school tomorrow to reduce concerns and to provide overall safety to our community school,” police said.
Officials say that they are continuing the investigation, however, and that “rumors are circulating” as a result of the incident.
“As this is an ongoing investigation, please do not share rumors and perpetuate fear on social media,” police said.
