RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Wake County is the healthiest county in North Carolina according to County Health Rankings and Roadmaps.
“We are excited to receive this honor and feel it is a testament to the great work that our staff does every day to help build a stronger and healthier community,” said Regina Petteway, director of Wake County Human Services, in a written release. “We work hard to make a positive difference in the lives of Wake County residents, and this recognition highlights that effort.”
Orange County was the second healthiest county in North Carolina. Union, Camden and Mecklenburg counties rounded out the top five healthiest counties.
Chatham made the top ten and was ranked 8th on the list. Durham was ranked 15th on the list and Cumberland County was ranked 75th.
