LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – It’s not every day you meet a 100-year-old. Well, how about 100-year-old identical twins?
Albert and Elmer Pfeuffer celebrated their 100th birthday today at the Garden View Assisted Living facility in Lafayette.
Their actual birthday was on Tuesday. They were born on March 15, 1916, in Saginaw, Michigan. Albert was born 15 minutes before Elmer.
Albert has lived in Lafayette with his wife Dot since 1960. Elmer flew in from his home in Tucson, Arizona.
The two brothers have experienced many things in their long life.
They tricked a teacher by going as the other to class when they were youngsters.
They also shared a car when they first started driving.
In fact, Albert still drives around town at the age of 100.
Today the two enjoyed cake and punch with many family and friends.
So what is the secret to their long productive life?
“We just follow the path the Lord gives us. Woke up early morning. Early years we just stayed active, we were very athletic. We were caddies at the golf course and did a lot of walking and running. Lots of sports added some substance to the longevity I imagine,” Albert explained.
Elmer has three children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
