Man injured, dog killed in Fayetteville house fire

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – A man suffered smoke inhalation and a dog died in a house fire Friday night on Ironwood Drive in Fayetteville.

Around 7 p.m., fire fighters responded to a call in the 2000 block of Ironwood Drive off Biltmore Drive in the Lafayette Village Neighbor.

Responding units found heavy fire in a single-story home, officials said.

Four adults and two children were able to escape but an adult male was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Three dogs were in the home but only two made it out, officials said.

The home sustained heavy damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
