Police say the incident happened just minutes after 8 a.m. Saturday, when Cary Police responded to 104 Lasky Court in reference to a domestic situation between Bradford and her boyfriend.

At the request of Angel Bradford, her father, Christopher Layne Bradford, Jr., arrived, police said.

“…however, during conversations with his daughter a struggle ensued and he was shot,” police said in a statement to the media.

Bradford, Jr., was taken to WakeMed Raleigh to be treated for his injuries.

The girlfriend then proceeded to barricade herself in the apartment unit on the 100 block of Lasky Court, police said.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the crisis team was able to get the woman out.
