CARY, N.C. (WNCN) – Officials say police and a crisis team were on the scene of a domestic dispute that happened shortly after 8 a.m Saturday, where shots were fired at the Reserve at Magnolia Ridge apartment complex Saturday.
The incident resulted in the evacuation of the complex on the 100 block of Harlon Drive.
Authorities later charged Angel Nicole Bradford, age 21, of Lasky Court with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Cary Police said.
Police say the incident happened just minutes after 8 a.m. Saturday, when Cary Police responded to 104 Lasky Court in reference to a domestic situation between Bradford and her boyfriend.
At the request of Angel Bradford, her father, Christopher Layne Bradford, Jr., arrived, police said.
“…however, during conversations with his daughter a struggle ensued and he was shot,” police said in a statement to the media.
Bradford, Jr., was taken to WakeMed Raleigh to be treated for his injuries.
The girlfriend then proceeded to barricade herself in the apartment unit on the 100 block of Lasky Court, police said.
Shortly after 10 a.m., the crisis team was able to get the woman out.
