Sleepy driver crashes truck into Raleigh home, troopers say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Authorities reported to a crash on Yates Mill Pond Road, after a driver slammed into a home.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol says while the driver, Roman Beauchant, 25, was not impaired. However, he was suffering from fatigue, which ultimately caused him to drive his truck into a home before around 7:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Authorities tell CBS North Carolina Beauchant was driving a 2001 pickup truck when he crossed center line and ran thru grapevines, which is when he hit the embankment and went airborne.

The man eventually hit the home, where two people were inside but were not injured.

Officials say Beauchant was charged with carelessness and reckless driving.
