RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Raleigh police are seeking the public’s help finding a suspect after a woman was raped over the weekend.
Just after 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to a report of a rape in the area of 7000 block of Sandy Forks Road, police said in a press release.
The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was “on foot in a wooded buffer area” when she was grabbed from behind, police said.
The suspect, who indicated he was armed with a knife, fled the scene on foot after committing the crime, according to police.
Detectives investigating the case are particularly interested in speaking with people who were in the vicinity in the 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. time frame Saturday and who may have seen anything possibly related to the incident.
