DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – Four teens were arrested after Durham police said they attempted to rob a Papa John’s Pizza deliveryman Wednesday night.
The victim told police he was delivering an order around 9:30 p.m. on Red Bird Drive in the Cardinal Lakes subdivision when he was approached by two teens armed with a gun.
The teens demanded money but the delivery man told police he refused and the teens left the scene in a gray car occupied by two other teens.
Officer T.D. Hardy stopped a car on Cardinal Lake Drive a short time later that matched the description of the vehicle used in the robbery.
The four teens were placed under arrest.
Brian Kenan Jr., 16, Quamaine York, 18, and Darrius York, 17, were each charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
They were placed in Durham County Jail under $250,000 bonds.
A 14-year-old juvenile was charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a handgun by a minor.
He was placed in a juvenile detention center.
