GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – On Thursday afternoon, Greenville Police Department arrested a man in connection with a false bomb report made over the weekend.
Police say on April 2nd around 2 a.m. some officers downtown were in the process of questioning a larceny suspect. During their questioning, they were approached by 22-year-old Jacob Kriminger who told them a man was in the area with a bomb.
After investigating, officers discovered there was no bomb or public threat in the area.
Kriminger later admitted to officers that he lied in efforts to get the officer’s attention away from his friend.
Kriminger is charged with making a false bomb report, aiding and abetting larceny, and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.
He is booked at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $3,000 secured bond.
Greenville Police Department wants everyone to know that making a false report is a serious crime that carries real consequences.
