RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Gov. Pat McCrory has canceled all his public events for Friday and Saturday due to a continued viral infection, his office said in a release.
Gov. McCrory has had the illness for over four weeks and needed an infusion of fluids by a doctor yesterday, officials said. Tests revealed no other issues, but his doctor recommended rest.
Because of his illness, the governor will miss the installation of the new UNC Pembroke chancellor Dr. Robin Cummings and an event honoring former Lt. Gov. Jim Gardner’s granddaughter, Tyler Strandberg.
The release said that the governor will follow his advice from his doctor and rest at home, as well as work from home.
