CHESTER, S.C. (WBTV) – A man is accused of striking a mother and child at a school bus stop in Chester County Thursday afternoon, sending them to the hospital.
Danny Dove, 53, is charged in the case.
The mother and child were airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:50 p.m. along the 600-block of Pinckney Street, near the train tressel in Chester.
Troopers say Dove, driving a Ford minivan, disregarded the stopped school bus and hit the mother and child, our news partners at CN2 report.
Officials say it happened just after the child was dropped off by a Head Start school bus.
Chester County Emergency Management officials say a landing zone was set up to transport the mother and child to the hospital. Both were reportedly conscious after the wreck.
Dove is charged with traffic violation for passing the bus resulting in great bodily injury.
