NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The North Carolina man accused in a 2008 murder case out of Norfolk was indicted with capital murder this week, court records show.
Michael Ryan Brown is accused of killing Angela Lechlitner in 2008. Her body was discovered in January of 2008 at her home in Norfolk.
Police have not said when Brown was named a suspect. He was arrested after a traffic stop in North Carolina last year.
On Wednesday, Brown was indicted with capital murder. He has also been indicted on charges of abduction, object sexual penetration and malicious wounding.
Capital murder is punishable as a class 1 felony. Someone found guilty of a class 1 felony can receive the death penalty, according the Virginia State Code.
