Traffic delays around 1 hour on section of I-40 WB

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A wreck blocking two lanes on Interstate 40 west at the South Sanders Street exit had backed up traffic for 13 miles causing delays of more than 100 minutes early on Monday.

Interstate 40 from the Clayton Bypass to U.S. Highway 1 had delays over 100 minutes long at one point on Monday. As of 8:25 a.m., delays on that section were down to 25 minutes.

The section of I-40 west from N.C. Highway 42 to downtown Raleigh had delays of more than 60 minutes as of 8:25 a.m.
