DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – A locally made app allows companies to share information with employees across town and around the world.
When it comes to communication, Durham-based video-marketing company StoryDriven relies on an app called Brim.
“You can share information in a way that is a lot easier to organize,” said StoryDriven CEO, Nathan Clendenin. “You can create topics and keep things relevant.”
Brim founder Mark McNasby said it’s an all-in-one app for business communications. “From instant messaging to video conferencing, to screen sharing, to file sync, everything is baked into one app,” McNasby said.
Brim, based in Durham, is geared toward companies and universities. It allows communication and information-sharing among colleagues across the room or across the world. Brim even uses its own app to interact with one of its team-members who’s based in Poland.
“Whether it’s instant messaging, showing him designs for the software, videoconferencing with him everyday, we use all these tools,” McNasby said.
This is Brim’s third year in business and founders say it’s growing in popularity.
“People use it and they really like it,” said Brim co-founder Michal Oglodek. “We’re getting good feedback so we’re really excited.”
Brim recently won a grant from NC Idea, which says they see the company’s potential to grow and bring in significant revenue to the state.
