CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) – The Chapel Hill Police said Tuesday that there has been a rash of break-ins recently through second-story windows.
In most cases, the police said, the windows were left unlocked.
The police urged residents to:
- Lock all doors and windows
- Install dead-bolts on all doors
- Use floodlights
- Remove any outdoor items that could help someone access the second story
- Make your home look occupied
- Don’t keep spare keys outside
- Consider getting an alarm system
