Franklin County deputy involved in crash while responding to call

FRANKLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCN) – A Franklin County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was involved in a wreck late Wednesday night near Louisburg while responding to a shots fired call, authorities said.

It happened on Clifton Pond Road near Mylands Road East just after 10:30 p.m.

Deputy Brandon Strickland was responding to a call when he ran off the road in a curve, over-corrected and then wrecked, Franklin County officials said.

Strickland was taken to WakeMed as a precautionary measure and was released within  hours.

No other vehicles were involved and the crash is under investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
