RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Downton Raleigh restaurant said it’s already being hurt economically by House Bill 2.
Shortly after it was passed, the owner of Bu-ku received an email from a party of 200 expected to come into town next week. The party asked if there would an appropriate bathroom for everyone. While the owner said he assured them there would be, more than half have decided not to come.
“Our business is hospitality, we’re supposed to make you feel comfortable from the time you come in. So for anyone to feel anything but welcome here is against what we do,” said owner Sean Degnan.
Since that happened, the owners said they have advertised through social media to let diners know there is a bathroom for everyone.
