Miami blasts Charlotte in NBA playoffs

MIAMI (WNCN) – Former Duke star Luol Deng scored 31 points as the Miami Heat punished  the Charlotte Hornets 123-91 Sunday night in their first game in the NBA playoffs.

The Hornets got 24 points from Nicolas Batum, a 6-foot-8 shooting guard, and 19 rom point guard Kemba Walker.

The Heat jumped on Charlotte early, blasting out to a 41-22 lead in the first quarter.

Game 2 is Wednesday night in Miami.

The franchise, previously known as the Bobcats, is in the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
