GASTONIA, N.C. (WBTV) – A man has been charged with shooting and killing a family member in Gastonia.
Gaston County police were called to Haywood Terrace Saturday just before 11 p.m. They say two relatives were inside the home arguing when one pulled out a gun and shot the other. Police have not released a name and have not said how the two were related.
The victim was taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center and later died.
Tom Jones Deason, 72, was charged with one count of second-degree murder. Deason lived in the home where the shooting happened, according to Gastonia County police.
He is being held at the Gaston County jail without bond.
