Georgia-Carolina Boy Scouts plan to set a new Guinness World Record

AUGUSTA, GEORGIA – There’s going to be a new Guinness World Record, if a few hundred boy scouts can pull it off.

If all goes as planned boy scouts from Georgia, South Carolina, and some from North Carolina will set a new world record for the largest shaving cream pie fight.

Once every 10 years the Georgia-Carolina Council holds an event called the Dixie Fellowship. This year, to attract more troops to the C.S.R.A. for the fellowship, the council decided one of the weekends event would be to set a new world record. The current record is 869 people, but these scouts are expecting 900 youth and adults to participate.

“We are actually not going to give each person their individual bottle because that is going to get a little too messy. So we have, I think, 70 bottles we bought. So we pour them into a fish and chips tray for hot dogs and we will fill it all the way up. We can get, I think, 10 to 15 trays per can,” said Southern Region Area 5 Section Chief Reed Powell.

The shaving cream fight is at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Robert E. Knox Scout Reservation in Lincolnton, Georgia.

The Southern Region Area 5 Section Chief says the boy scouts will also be cleaning up the shaving cream after they set that new world record.
