Greensboro company to cut almost 400 jobs

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Triad company has announced the timeline for nearly 400 job cuts.

ITG Brands, which bought Lorillard’s cigarette production plant last year, has announced that it will lay off an undisclosed number of workers later this year as it contracts to produce brands for Reynolds American.

ITG Brands said it will lay off about 375 employees from its manufacturing plant in Greensboro.

The layoffs will happen in June.

The company was formed out of last year’s merger between Reynolds American and Lorillard.

ITG in February said layoffs were planned, but the company didn’t say how many at the time.
