NC deputy injured in head-on crash during robbery pursuit

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A deputy was injured in a head-on crash Thursday night while joining the pursuit of a robbery suspect who eluded officers and remained at large, officials said.

The deputy was getting into position to help with the chase when he was struck near Hicone Road, according the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

It started after reports that someone had held up an AT&T store at 2015 Pyramids Village Blvd. around 8 p.m. The armed robber took an undisclosed amount of money, Greensboro police said.
