CARTHAGE, N.C. (WNCN) — A military exercise with explosions, aircraft and possibly gunfire will take place in a Moore County town on Tuesday night, officials say.
The event will begin at dusk at a closed manufacturing facility on Dowd Road in Carthage, according to information from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
The location at the now-closed Pallets Plus facility at 832 Dowd Road is less than a mile southeast from the Carthage town square traffic circle.
It’s unclear which soldiers will be involved in the military activity in the town.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Office would not release to CBS North Carolina which military units will be taking part in the exercise.

“There will be a Military exercise tonight at Pallets Plus on Dowd Road. This Military exercise will include aircraft, explosions, and possibly gunfire, and should begin around dark.”
