Fire breaks out at Fayetteville apartment building

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Fire investigators are trying to determine what started a fire at a two-story apartment building in Fayetteville early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to 920 Pedro Drive at the Margarita Villas Apartments.

When crews arrived, there was heavy fire coming from an apartment on the second floor.

Fire officials said everyone was evacuated and there were no injuries.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.

PWC was called out to disconnect utilities due to the amount of damage to one of the apartment units.

The resident denied assistance from the Red Cross. Fire officials estimated about $10,000 worth of damage.
